Centipede Suction
The Flexible Suction Assistant
How It Works
Works with most standard units with standard suction hose diameters of 3/16”ID and 3/8”OD
Works best on movable or adjustable units.
The low volume (slow speed) evacuation hose is threaded through the Centipede and is secured into the unit’s original resting site.
The Centipede encases the suction hose allowing the two to move as one unit.
Once in desired position, it will lock into place until intentionally moved.
This allows the saliva ejector to stay exactly where you place it.
If your suction hose or suction hardware is not compatible you may contact your unit representative to see if there are any hose fittings that can be replaced.
Having over 14 years in the profession as well as talking with other hygienists has allowed me to hear what the complaints and frustrations are. The suction always comes up as a general complaint. So many times, I have heard or have said myself, “I wish there was a better way to suction”.
Dentists have the luxury of having a chairside assistant who aids them during an entire procedure. The dental assistant is truly the dentist’s 3rd hand. Dental Hygienists have always relied on self-sufficiency in which difficulties can easily arise. A standard appointment involves strategic multitasking. Much of the appointment involves simultaneous use of both hands as well as a foot. As you can see, any assistance to relieve a hand can greatly enhance the clinician’s ability to pay more attention to the patient and provide a more efficient dental appointment.
The Centipede is a great enhancement to the current saliva/water evacuation system. It’s easy to use and relatively zero maintenance required. This new innovative product is ergonomical, effective and affordable and will make a great addition to any dental office. All dental clinicians and patients will benefit from the Centipede.
